2017 Laval en Blanc Fest

Stéphane St-Amour of the Courrier Laval estimates "... to more than 15,000 the number of festival-goers who came to celebrate the winter at the end of a Laval en Blanc whilst illuminated." It was indeed a first evening experience for the organization, which allowed us to perfomer a soft wake up of the garden of the ice. The Berge des Baigneurs was crowded for the fireworks on Friday evening, and it was almost 200 people per hour who paraded around the garden, experiencing the various colorations produced during the perception of movements by the sensors. Several elders, living nearby, highlighted the charm of illuminated ice balloons as well as the intriguing side of reactive light experience.

The next day, the garden split towards the end of the ice rink, in an essentially natural environment, under the tall trees on the Rivière-des-Milles-Îles. The fall of day was enchanting. The walkers, coming from the track on the iced river, discovered with curiosity a reactive garden unusual in such a place. Their surprise and interest were multiplied at the opening of the fires, at dusk.

The saturday crowd was even more intense than on Friday. It did not allow us to take as many pictures as we wanted, because the animation leaves us little leisure. But we were happy to meet a curious and contemplative audience, day and night. Thank you to all the Arthist Network and Laval en Blanc team for this beautiful invitation.
